Very cool, rats. Very cool. Looks like a job well-done. Certainly the biggest update in a while.

How is the closed beta testing progressing?

Cough.

Just amazing I had no idea the patch would be this good great job rats. Looking at the screens and the grass clutters and scrub around the player, it only seems to extend a short distance around the players field of view. My question is will the persistant grass have a limited draw distance in the finished product as seen or is there some other effect at work? Is that even the mentioned persistant grass thats showing up around the players in a 50 meter circle or so or some kind of adjustable radial clutter?

Thanks for the preview, theres so much good stuff there I can't wait.

Question: Will the game benefit from multi-core CPUs?

Currently my Phenom II X3 720BE @ 3.4GHz isn't enough to run this game perfectly, FPS drops below 20 always in big fights. I wonder if 1.31 will finally take advantage of more than just one core.

CPUs have pretty much hit the performance barrier of single CPU core so todays trend is to have more cores but obiviously it does no good in this game right now.

I wonder if the new bushes and cover are here to stay or you will be able to turn them off

I love how the game looks in 1.31 and the cover with all the bushes looks amazing but ill hate to be able to turn it off so the cover will be lost

A. Most effects, like radial clutter, water reflections and shadows will be able to scale up/down or turn on/off but others like clouds and rain will not be user-controlled to ensure fair play.
hope that helps.

One of the things i noted about the cloud cover and rain effects was that it still looks entirely possible for aircraft to zoom in from significant height and bomb and strafe at will during 'cloudy' days.

Are you considering putting fog back in the game?

Aside from giving the ground guys some respite from ea, the fog made for some incredibly atmospheric battles on the ground, with so little viewing distance and reliance on audio.

All the improvements look great btw :)

Looks nice. The weather and new terrain (trees/etc, as well as buildings) look nice.

Ragdoll will certainly modernize the look for new players.

It would be useful to see shots with and without clutter to get an idea what kind of disadvantage anyone using clutter would have.
