Our second RatChat was another success, with almost 100 people logged in to listen to DOC talk about the direction CRS want to take the command structure inside of Battleground Europe-WWIIOL.
CRS is developing a framework to help them implement command functions into the existing UI, which together with score for leadership roles and objectives will have commanders measured for success the same way tankers or pilots or infantry are now. Currently, the HC exists mainly outside the game via email, TS chat or forums to create campaigns. The changes in the UI will bring command functions into the game through the UI and create a gameplay of it's own for command oriented players. The goal of these changes is to make command more attractive to good leaders. Tracking and scoring a leader’s success gives players incentive to excel in leadership roles. Giving these players in-game command tools and communication channels will make this process easier, more efficient, and much more enjoyable. Players who don’t want to play commander, but want or need to know who those commanders are, will be able to see what is going on in the game UI itself, and thus the command part of the game becomes more easily understood by all.
